I build custom software for small and mid-size businesses and nonprofits.
I’m taking on five founding clients this fall. The build and the first month it runs are free, and in return you tell me honestly what works and what doesn’t. After that it’s a monthly fee, and we’ll agree on the amount in writing before I start.

What I can build
Most businesses run on a main system like QuickBooks, Shopify, ServiceTitan, Clio, an older ERP, or just Excel or Google Sheets. There are usually a handful of jobs around that system that somebody still does manually every week, and those are a good place to start.
- Reminders for unpaid invoices that go out on a schedule, with a list of who to call when the emails don’t work
- Follow-ups on quotes and leads that went quiet
- Appointment reminders and confirmations by text
- Copying orders, jobs, or contacts from one system into another so nobody has to retype them
- The Monday report someone puts together in a spreadsheet, built and emailed to you every week
- A page that tracks the numbers you care about, like how long invoices take to get paid or how many quotes turn into jobs, and keeps itself up to date
I’ll also set up a way to measure whatever I build, so we can both see the time or money it’s saving. In my experience, what gets measured gets better.
I also build larger systems, like a job board that pulls from your ERP, or a single inbox for customer requests that come in by email and text.
If your system has an API or can export a spreadsheet, I can usually work with it. A lot of older systems have neither, but most of them have a database I can read from.
An example chart. A quote gets a reminder email after 3 days, a text after 7, and goes on your call list after 10. Out of 20 quotes a month, 7 turn into jobs where 5 did before. At $1,500 a job that’s about $3,000 more a month.
An example chart. Retyping orders from Shopify into QuickBooks takes someone about 1 hour and 10 minutes a day, or 6 hours a week. When the orders are copied over automatically, checking them takes 5 minutes a day.
